The history of Mlynica began in the 1960s with the establishment of a factory producing prefabricated building components from aerated concrete. Lightweight construction materials were produced here until the Velvet Revolution. After the factory ceased its original operations, the site was left abandoned and without further use. Two decades of neglect and time left their marks on the building's appearance.

Today, the former industrial complex is reviving through new functions while respectfully preserving its more than fifty-year-old history. The building’s owner and architects decided to maintain the authenticity of this once-forgotten site. Therefore, several original elements evoking Mlynica's industrial past have been retained.

Original hoppers were thoughtfully integrated into spaces designated for new purposes. The choice of materials—steel, concrete, brick, wood, and glass—complements the composition and accentuates the industrial character of the building. Traces of time have also been deliberately conserved, forming part of the site’s history.

Thanks to these interventions, Bratislava’s rich industrial heritage has gained a versatile event space with broad possibilities for use.
